Defense Systems Coil Winding Machines

For several decades, Broomfield has been a pioneer in the development and manufacturing of special coil winding systems produced for defense contractors in the production of various electronic devices. Our clients include General Atomics, Sparton, Raytheon, L3 Technologies, Argonne National Laboratory, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory, National High Magnetic Field Labs, Sandia National Laboratory and others.

Broomfield designed and manufactured the first production EMALS (Electro Motive Aircraft Launch System) coil winding system in 2001, used to manufacture ultra-high power linear motors. This was a highly custom system to incorporate servo conductor guiding together with turns and pole holding. This system remains in production in 2017.

Broomfield designed and manufactured winding systems used to manufacture lattice style windings for deployment coils, where electrical wires must be quickly and consistently deployed without entanglement or snags. Our many years of developing and manufacturing the most robust winding systems available anywhere, together with our nearly 40 years of winding application experience, our commitment to quality service and our high level and creative designs, have allowed us to remain throughout our history, the vendor of choice for the largest multi-national electrical manufacturers across the world.
